u.M. – “Auxiliary Agents” was the term used to describe the German Democratic
Republic’s doping programme. Up until German reunification, about 10 000 competitive sportsmen and women were doped without their knowledge. 25 years later the number of victims is rising.

Until 1989 André Keil was one of the GDR’s top sailors. From 1992 to 2005 he
headed the sports department at NDR in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In 2005 he
was appointed head of the NDR studios in Schwerin.

Benjamin Unger studied German in Potsdam. Since 2010 the journalist and writer has made a number of contributions for television.
